Our mission with Harrison Central High School is to instill in our students the desire to perform at their highest potential by holding them accountable to our expectations to achieve the highest results within the community.

There's a new 'ERA' here at HCHS,
Expectations...Results...Accountability

Harrison Central High School serves 1622 students, ninth to twelfth grade, through 144 dedicated faculty members. It offers its students a state of the art learning environment with Internet access in all classrooms so all students can become part of the global society. Most classrooms have four computers for students to use during the school day. Students have access to a fully automated library and media center as well. A variety of educational programs such as after-school tutoring, enrichment courses, and online curricula provide students with a wealth of opportunity to excel and achieve. Each teacher can better meet student needs as well with data warehousing resources developed by district personnel. These resources allow teachers to profile the past performance of a student and better meet the specific needs of the individual student.

Jumpstart ACT began with star teacher hall-of-fame educator, Dot McClendon, and her passion to help students prepare for and perform better on the ACT® and Algebra 1 MAP exam.
Jumpstart’s unique preparation approach helps students of all ability levels stay fully engaged and gain the most improvement in the shortest time by explaining difficult content in a way that every student can follow and understand.”

“Jumpstart's course allows the fixability to be adapted into any curriculum constraint.  Learning modules review the must-know content, include testing strategies specific to the ACT® and the Algebra I MAP exam and conclude with realistic question practice modeled from actual "retired” exams and practice tests.”
