Subject-Area Tests & ACT

Students in Harrison County School District participate in various classroom assessments throughout the school year. Assessments tell you about students’ progress on the path to future success, whether that is the next grade or the next course. They measure what students know and can do based on learning goals for the grade or course.

High school students take four subject-area tests according to their schedule and the ACT in their junior year.

  • Algebra I
  • English II
  • Biology
  • U.S. History
  • ACT

Alternate Assessments

Students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities take the Mississippi Academic Assessment Program-Alternate (MAAP-A) in grades 3-8 and high school.

English Learners

Students identified as English Learners will take a English Learner Proficiency Test in grades K-12. The test is given each year until students become proficient English language speakers, readers, and writers.

Due to the school closures in spring of 2020, our students did not take state assessments that were scheduled for that time. Therefore, we do not have spring state assessment scores for students. We also do not have any District/School Report Cards to share with you at this time.
